Turkish Guardsmen
(5000-2065)

The drawing represents two guardsmen seated and conversing as one smokes a hookah; two other guardsmen are standing at the entrance of a building behind them. The drawing is a preliminary study for a slightly larger painting in oil, today at The Walters Art Museum in Baltimore.
